Brynn is our Co-Chief Executive Officer. Since 2017 she has led ACCR’s transformation into a globally recognised force for investor action on climate, building a team that blends multidisciplinary expertise to drive systemic change. A lawyer and strategist, her work connects a sharp understanding of market power with a commitment to justice and intergenerational equity. Before joining ACCR, Brynn worked in legal practice and as an advisor on business and human rights. Brynn has degrees in law and science and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Nick is our Co-Chief Executive Officer. Since leaving practice as a barrister, Nick has been working at the intersection of climate and philanthropy, with a focus on strategies to ensure that the use of legal tools to drive positive action on climate and nature will have maximum impact. While in legal practice, he specialised in public law, environmental law and complex inquests and inquiries, and taught public and constitutional law. Nick has degrees in Law and Communications.

Naomi is our Head of Engagement & Sector Strategy, bringing experience in research, campaigns and advocacy, particularly on the impacts of coal and gas projects. She trained in science communication, climate science and natural resource management at the Australian National University. Over the past 17 years, Naomi has worked with investors, companies, regional communities, Traditional Owners, scientists and policy makers towards enhanced climate disclosures and environmental protections.

Elisabeth is our Chief Operating Officer with over 25 years' experience as a public interest lawyer and non-profit manager. Prior to joining our team, she worked internationally on human rights, corporate accountability, rule of law and sustainable development. Elisabeth has degrees in Arts (Psychology) and Law from the University of Sydney and a Master of International and Community Development from Deakin University and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Gemma is our Investor Engagement Lead collaboratively building investor and company relationships. She has worked in financial markets for 15 years, in both investment banking (equity research sales) and funds management (investor relations and marketing) where she has always sought to add value via timely and relevant service for her clients. Gemma holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Business Management (University of Queensland) and a Business Sustainability Certificate from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL).

Martin is our Investor Engagement Lead expanding the reach of our research to key European and Japanese investors. Based in Norway, Martin has over 20 years’ climate and energy experience globally, and has built extensive networks with the finance industry, NGOs and relevant government representatives in Europe, as well as parts of Asia and America. Martin has a background in anthropology, as well as sports training, having trained alpine sports teams at national level in Norway and Iceland.

Guy is our Investor Engagement Officer. He started his career as a sustainable investment research analyst in the asset management business. Guy has significant experience in investment stewardship, having worked with a number of stakeholders across the financial, not-for-profit and corporate industries. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (Durham University) and a Master of Science in Climate Change, Management & Finance (Imperial Business School).

Sarah is our Stewardship Strategy Lead working closely with investors. Prior to joining our team in London, Sarah worked in international investment law and sustainable development, advising developing country governments on legal frameworks for foreign direct investment. Sarah has worked as a legal advisor to governments in Rwanda and Samoa, and as an investigator for the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission. Sarah has a law degree from the Australian National University and a Masters in international development from the London School of Economics.

Nick is our Sector Strategy Lead for Oil & Gas. Based in London, Nick focuses on accelerating the decarbonisation of the oil and gas value chain. His recent roles before joining our team were within the stewardship teams Robeco and Federated Hermes asset management firms, where he focused on engaging with companies that were more exposed to climate-related risks and opportunities. He also supported the implementation of the climate strategies of each company.

Tom is our Sector Strategy Lead for Coal & Utilities. He has 18 years of experience in social change organisations including WWF and Christian Aid primarily focused on climate change and energy policy. A specialist in advocacy, Tom has applied his skills to drive policy changes in areas including energy and utilities, oil and gas, transport and aviation, sustainable housing and green finance. His skillset spans strategy, communications, corporate engagement, political advocacy, and grassroots community organising. Tom holds an English degree from Oxford University and a Master’s degree from the school of social science and public policy at King's College London.

Annabel is our Sector Strategy Lead for Steel and Mining companies. She has worked with financial institutions on climate change across topics including investor stewardship strategy, corporate engagement and industrials decarbonisation. Prior to joining our team in London, Annabel was at the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) managing corporate engagements in the industrials sectors and co-leading the stewardship workstream. She holds a degree in Geography from the University of Oxford.

Dimitri is our Chief Scientist leading the climate science analysis for our rigorous company assessments. He brings a deep understanding of GHG emissions and energy markets, as well as oil and gas value chains. After an 11-year career as a geoscientist in the oil and gas industry, working for Shell globally, Dimitri subsequently completed a PhD on climate change and energy transition. He holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Geophysics and Geology (University of Utrecht) and a PhD in Climate and Energy (University of Melbourne).

Sophie is our Chief Scientist leading our engagement and outreach with investors. She also serves on our Research Committee. Prior to joining the team, Sophie was the ACT Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment. Sophie has published over 50 research articles on climate change and variability during her roles at the University of New South Wales, the University of Melbourne and the Australian National University. Sophie was awarded a prestigious Australian Research Council DECRA Fellowship. From 2018, she served as a lead author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) 6th Assessment Report. She was named ACT Scientist of the Year in 2019.

Paul is our Analytical Insights Lead, overseeing a large team of analysts and researchers. Paul previously worked at Templeton Global Equities managing A$70bn of funds, specialising in global equities, with a focus on long-term bottom-up fundamental research. He has also worked as a portfolio manager/research analyst across numerous sectors in Asia, Europe & ANZ, with experience in leveraging detailed financial analysis and modelling to drive alpha generation. Paul is a Chartered Financial Analyst, with a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments, Securities Institute of Australia, and a Bachelor of Commerce, major in Accounting, from Monash University.

This has given him extensive expertise and understanding of the energy transition, oil and gas business models, asset and company forecasting, climate policy, and climate reporting.

Fiona is our Lead Analyst for Steel & Diversified Mining companies. She has 10 years’ experience as a researcher and campaigner in the climate and union movements. Fiona has led our high-profile research program on steel sector transition. She has also been closely involved in strategy design and implementation in relation to Australian iron ore miners and Japanese steelmakers. Fiona holds a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Technology Sydney.

Isaac has three years’ experience working in Environmental Consulting in Australia, most recently as an Environmental Scientist, and with an earlier background in Financial Auditing.

Pranav is our Analyst specialising in coal research, with supporting work across oil and gas and climate insights. He holds an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering and integrates quantitative, financial and climate analysis to identify emissions-reduction solutions that are credible from a shareholder-value perspective. Pranav has experience across research, consulting and the mining sector and previously led a globally recognised decarbonisation project supported by the Elon Musk Foundation.

Aria is our Impact Strategy Lead with over 30 years’ experience working with not-for-profit organisations in the environment, community services, health and education sectors. Their roles have ranged from frontline service provision to advocacy, research and senior management. Aria h as expertise in strategy, evaluation and organisational development, and has consulted widely to governments and social purpose organisations on strengthening and measuring impact. They have qualifications in social work, linguistics and computer science.

Alia is our Shareholder Engagement Officer, responsible for cultivating strong relationships with our shareholder community and supporting AGM filings. She is an Indigenous woman with connections to the Wongutha, Ngadju and Mirning language groups of Western Australia. Alia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Australian Indigenous Studies and is deeply committed to caring for Country. Prior to joining our team, Alia worked in Indigenous support and Native Title Agreements roles at Rio Tinto. Her work included advocacy and support for Indigenous employees, facilitating the implementation and ongoing compliance monitoring of Native Title Agreements, supporting collaboration with Traditional Owners, and contributing to the design, implementation and delivery of Indigenous Ranger Programs.
