At Santos’ 2022 AGM 25.3% of votes cast were against its remuneration report.

This is a serious signal that investors are unsatisfied and creates the possibility of a 2nd strike and board spill at the 2023 AGM.

Last year, the Full Federal Court found that Santos environmental approval to conduct the Barossa drilling campaign had been unlawfully issued. This resulted in the suspension of the drilling campaign and a heightened focus on environmental approvals.
