ACCR v Santos appeal discontinued by consent

The Australasian Centre for Corporate Responsibility (ACCR) and Santos Ltd have agreed for the ACCR v Santos Ltd appeal to be discontinued by consent.

The decision to discontinue the appeal by consent was a pragmatic one and has not been taken lightly.

This case sought clarity for investors about clean energy claims. Since 2021 when the case commenced, the context in which disclosures and net zero commitments are made and how climate action plans are characterised has evolved.
