Sasol (South African Synthetic Oil) develops and commercialises technologies, including synthetic fuels technologies, and produces different liquid fuels, chemicals and electricity. It operates in 33 countries. Sasol is the largest corporate taxpayer in South Africa and is the second largest emitter in South Africa, providing 40% of the country’s petrol and diesel, and 35% of aviation fuel. The majority of earnings in FY21 are from its Chemicals business. SOL is an important player in South Africa’s decarbonisation. Sasol is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE: SOL) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SSL).
